We design and develop the consumables through which the measurement is made: the parts that light passes through, reflects off, or is collected from. We match materials to each read zone, such as transmission cells and low-autofluorescence imaging windows, balancing optical performance, fluidic precision, manufacturability, and cost. Close work between our assay, fluidics, and optics teams keeps every consumable tuned to the measurement it enables.

Precise measurement depends on presenting the sample to the optics in exactly the right place, at exactly the right temperature. We engineer the motion and thermal subsystems that make this happen: positioning sample and optical elements relative to one another with high, repeatable accuracy, and holding or cycling temperature to the tolerances that PCR and other temperature-sensitive assays demand. Precision staging, autofocus, and fast, uniform thermocycling are co-designed with the optics, so every read lands at the right coordinate and the right thermal moment.

Optical Detection Technology

We engineer light emission, transmission, and detection as one system, with optics, electronics, and control software developed together. Beyond selecting the source and detector, we design the drive electronics and firmware that power and modulate the light source, and the detection electronics and software that read it out, tuning current, timing, gain, and filtering as a single closed loop. The optical path is optimized across emission, transmission, collection, and detection for signal quality, sensitivity, and repeatability at the wavelengths each assay uses.

Where the optical front end leaves off, signal and data processing takes over. We turn the raw detector signal into calibrated data through analog and digital signal conditioning, noise reduction, and baseline correction, with embedded algorithms that separate the real measurement from background and drift. Calibration models, reference handling, and on-board data reduction translate photons into precise, traceable values, delivered as calibrated output ready for your instrument’s software to turn into a result. Because the processing chain is co-developed with the optics and electronics, it is matched to the noise, dynamic range, and stability profile of each measurement.
